I can't agree with you more. I joined this site because I enjoy video games and had the idea (wrong unfortunately) that I could go on here and find relevant stories and talk shop with fellow game lovers. But all I've found is a bunch of immature people spouting off at each other. Some one nearly dies and they laugh and turn it into a PS3 vs 360 or American vs the rest off the world debate.
Sad. And it's these very comments and immature actions that Jack Thompson and crew are g...
I'm kind of divided as to wether to buy this or not. Also, is there the possibility of the rest of the game coming out as cheaper down loadable content? Say, $30 for the rest of the game? That would make a lot more sense than having to buy everything you already have with GT5P all over again.
people are looking at a tragic story such as this and turning it into a PS3 vs 360 debate or even a American vs European issue. It is a terrible event and obviously has nothing to do with the game system. There were some MAJOR issues in that house before this occered. And the whole "American" thing, I'm sure there are plenty of stupid and unneccissary assaults and deaths in England over stupid material things. This is not funny in any way, shape or form.
But I can't wait to see it in action. With a game like this, screens can look good, but when they are flying by at 60 fps, that will impressive.
is like trying to nail jello to the wall, no matter how hard you try to pound the point home, it just slips away.
Just like my points about programming vs hardware design in 17.2 and 19. Hardware that is harder to progam for will take longer for developers to learn and open the potential of the system up. People tried to say the same holds true for all systems, but that isn't so. Different hardware is easier to crack than others thus making better looking games easier to achiev...
PS3 is starting to climb and will continue to do so. More US gamers will soon jump in and people will have to stop bragging that it's on the bottom of the pile. I'm not hoping for the slide in sales for any other system, I just am sick of seeing all the "360 is kicking PS3s a$$" crap.
Wierd....creepy.........and disturbing.
I hope they don't produce this. The new SKUs are just lame and really angering consumers. I know it's a little different, but it reminds me of all the add-ons that Sega came out with for the Genesis. They don't work and just frustrate people trying to catch up and / or buy the best system. Aren't we far enough into this generation of game consoles that they(Sony & MS) should stop trying to change the hardware and start consentrating on games. If MS and Sony spent as much time making new g...
You are doing the same thing that you hate about the Sony fanboys. I can't stand the "they lie about their numbers" and "MS is too sneaky" crap. And I really hate the RROD comments; being happy because some one owning a competing system had it brick up on them, that sucks and is just plain stupid to be happy about it.
I own a PS3, but I read all game news because I'm interested in the industry as a whole and good games on the 360 means Sony will have to man ...
Just kind of curious as it was stated in another article that it cost $30 million to make! And I don't think that included the advertising. Just wondering if the profit was that far above the development / advertising / production cost?
BIGBAER - I got that part on the math, I just don't know their profit. They don't sell the games to the retailer for $59, otherwise the retailers would make no money and go out of business. I know they must have made tons of money, but just curi...
I agree with your points about the unreal engine showing its age and that PS3 has more power than 360. But, there are great games on the PS3 right now. You named two in your statement; uncharted and COD4, but let's not forget The darkness, Virtua Fighter, Oblivian, Guitar Hero III, Rock Band, Resistance, Tom Clancy:Vegas, Ratchet and Clank, and some great sports titles like Skake, Madden, and NHL 08 just to start the list. If these and the host of others aren't enough to keep us as gamers bus...
I'm not a super Sony fanboy (I think every fanboy should shut up and play the system they like and leave everyone else to the system they like), but the PS3 will surpass the 360 in terms of graphics and overall power. Argue with me if you want, but it will. Year one is rough for all new systems. MS got a jump on every one so they are who we judge the others by in terms of graphics and power. As the PS3 open its doors to programmers, its potential will be realized. To call it a disappointment ...
Not necessarily.
Different systems use different hardware (thus making them different systems). With some hardware, the potential can be tapped right away due to ease of programming. If you know where you are going, you don't need a map. On the other hand, if the way to get there is completely unfamiliar, it may take you more time to figure out how to get where you want to go.
Your "adult logic" doesn't make sense when talking about three completely different programmi...
Sony hardware is traditionally hard to program for. It was the same with the PS1 and PS2. Developers complain that it is too difficult to program for, then when they start to dig into the potential of the system, they realize the power the machine has and games get better and better.
As far as the people saying enough of the wait and see in Sony's approach, you become a programmer for the system, then snap your fingers and create a epic, beautiful, original, smooth running game...
This is news?
All high end electronics produce heat.
What kind of moron puts candles on or around their electrical equipment, except some one trying (and I mean"trying") to make some sort of stupid point. Ridiculous article.
And, by the way, I am a PS3 owner.
Why is this game being made when Gran Turismo is going to feature Ferrari? It doesn't really make sense to create a game based solely on one manufacturer when another game is going to include that same manufacturer and many (MANY) more. Reguardless, this game probably won't due very well as most car brand specific games seem to get swept under the rug by the big racing franchises (NFS, Burnout, GT, ect.).
I'm not a Sony fanboy (see my name), but this crap gets so rediculous that I find need to comment.
Yes, 360 games do look better at this time. I agree. Let me say that again, I AGREE 360 GAMES DO LOOK BETTER IN GENERAL. But I would like to point out that Sony's machines have all been difficult to program for and always improve by leaps and bounds as time goes on. Put in any 1st gen PS1 or PS2 game, then put in one made 3 or 4 years later and you will huge differences. Before people ju...
No more SKUs for any system!!!
It's starting to remind me of the Sega Genesis and all its failed add-ons. Enough already!!!
I find it funny that the least "powerful" system, Wii, hasn't bothered and is winning the console war. Interesting, no?
I hate to give you more attention, but you are the most mindless droid on this site. Talking trash about PS3 and the supiority of the 360. SHUT UP AND PLAY.
Why the hell do you care what other people do? I'm perfectly happy with my PS3, why are you so unhappy that I'm happy with it?
Oh! - and HA HA - MY SYSTEM CAN BEAT UP YOUR SYSTEM! (sarcasm)
Edit - Someone disagrees with my above comment. I love it. You are right, I'm not happy with my system!...
This is going to be a rough year. How to decide what to get? Awesome games. Can't wait to see what's up with Heavy Rain. I enjoyed Indigo Prophecy, very unique and a great story (very X-Files-ish). A true interactive movie (actually better than a lot of the movies out these days). Great year to be a gamer and PS3 is starting to open up its hardware to create the best games on the market. Very exciting.
Edit - Good one Skerj - and true! *Bubbles* (like you need them!)
